Próxicampo is a founder-led advisory firm that (re)builds and executes strategy for innovative agriculture and AgTech companies, partnering with investors and companies who need more than advice. Our focus: commercializing plant genetics, building market pull strategies that drive adoption at scale, and embedding ESG and climate/labor resilience. For investors, we run ag- and AgTech-specific deal flow and diligence, drawing on direct experience financing, building, and exiting these businesses/assets.

Próxicampo was founded in 2025 by L. Lloys Frates, Ph.D., a board director and senior executive with 20+ years investing in, building, and governing breakthrough agriculture and AgTech companies across the U.S. and Latin America. Her career has centered on the places where commercial rigor and social impact reinforce each other, combining innovation, scale, ESG, and profitability so owners, operators, employees, farm workers, and rural communities all win. She has (co)led capital raises for funds and stand-alone assets, sourced deals, built a company from concept into a leading global produce business, and led the transformation of a grower-packer-shipper into one of the world’s leading fruit genetics businesses, culminating in a record-setting exit. She now applies that experience to Próxicampo.
